An important task of Ukrainian Energy Exchange, which conducting untreated timber sales, is creation of the best conditions for all market participants. This direction operates in continuous mode, because success of transactions and, accordingly, the stability of the market as a whole depends on the efficiency of exchange activities.
One of the core factors of market stable functioning is proper execution by the Parties of their obligations under exchange contracts. UEEX pays special attention to this issue, and provides continuous monitoring of status of contract performance by trading participants.
Based on the results of monitoring the implementation of contracts for the purchase and sale of untreated timber in the third quarter of 2025, under which the price increase exceeded 30% and the performance was not ensured within the tolerance specified in the terms of the contract, as of October 16, 2025, sanctions were applied to 21 violators who failed to fulfill their obligations under the concluded contracts in the form of suspension of admission to exchange trading (auctions) for sales, which will be initiated by the seller participant, whose obligations were violated: up to eleven participants - for 1 month, up to one - for 2 months, up to nine - for 3 months.
In addition, sanctions were applied to 182 violators in the form of suspension of admission to participate in exchange trading in thedirection of "Untreated timber and lumber" until the debt under the exchange is fully repaid.
Application of the sanctions is a forced measure, aimed at ensuring the proper implementation of Contracts, compliance with openness principles, transparency and fair competition at Exchange trades.
UEEX Exchange Committee, which considers cases of violations of trading rules and in each individual case decides on the application of sanctions stresses the need for buyers and sellers of untreated tinder to strictly comply with their contractual obligations to prevent similar situations in the future.
