Ukraine Energy Exchange conducts open and competitive untreated timber trades and give a high attention of implementation of purchase and sale agreements with this resource by the parties, because this is an important component of exchange trading which influences the market.
Contracts execution monitoring is implemented at the electronic trading platform. It contains stable dialog with market participants, support of existing contracts, prompt resolution of disputes and control over the transfer of the sold timber to the new owner.
Analitical module was launched at the Exchange, which gives relevant information regarding untreated timber purchase and sale agreements implementation. This convenient instrument is open and accessible for everyone at UEEX official website.
As of previous information, on April 11, 2025, by the results of the of the first decade of the second quarter, the overall level of agreements implementation at UEEX is 11%, but the upward trend is positive and if it continues, UEEX`s contracts implementation level as of II quarter of the current year can be more than 90%. This is facilitated not only by the exchange’s work in this area, but also by the timber trading participants’ faithful fulfillment of their obligations and the successful and timely reforms introduced by the forestry industry’s management.
The regions with the highest level of contract fulfillment include: Vinnytsia region - 25%, Khmelnytsky region - 23%, Volyn region - 19%, Kyiv region - 11%.
Among the sellers, the largest amount of untreated timber was sold by the State Enterprise “Forests of Ukraine” - 589792,787 m³, while 64672,656 m³ were actually shipped, which is 11%. Municipal forestry enterprises sold 3971,342 m³ of the resource, while 329,815 m³ were actually shipped, or 8,3%. Other sellers sold 4443,33 m³ of raw materials, while 657,675 m³ were actually shipped, or 14,8%.
In the context of the offices of the State Enterprise “Forests of Ukraine”, the Stolychne Forestry Office sold the most raw wood - 322 556,787 m³, 34723,758 m³ were actually shipped, or 10,8%. Podilsky Forestry Office sold 137670 m³ of the resource, while 16696,993 m³ were actually shipped, which is 12,1%. The Carpathian Forestry Office sold 129566 m³ of raw materials, 13251,905 m³ were actually shipped, or 10,2%.
“Participants of untreated timber trading at UEEX should be confident in the reliable execution of their contracts, as this directly affects their business activities and the ability to plan effectively,” said Kostyantyn Shevchuk, Deputy CEO of UEEX. "Today, our exchange has a steady positive trend in the execution of exchange contracts, and delivery schedules are mostly met. We have every reason to expect that by the end of the second quarter the level of contract fulfillment will be close to 90%."
