Last month, PP BETS held 48 trading sessions for the purchase and sale of natural gas on the medium- and long-term market, and 4 trading sessions each day on the short-term market.
258 starting positions were formed in the PP BETS for resource trading in June, July 2025, and subsequent months, in the GTS and UGS. Due to the shortage of the resource, participants remain interested in trading for several months ahead. In total, 127.01 million cubic meters of natural gas were sold on the medium- and long-term market. In the short-term market, 700 thousand cubic meters of natural gas were sold.
On the medium- and long-term market in June, quoted prices in the same section were in a fairly wide range: UAH 20773.81-26300 excluding VAT. Prices grew rapidly until the last decade of June. The initiators of the auctions formed starting positions mainly for purchase.
On the short-term market, exchange rates fluctuated daily in the lower range of UAH 19630-25240 excluding VAT. Sales were available exclusively in the Ukrainian gas transportation system.
"In June, the activity of participants increased, which was reflected in a 6.7-fold increase in the volume sold compared to May. In particular, the first deal was concluded in the Cross-Border, Customs Warehouse section and several deals were made in the Imported Natural Gas section. At present, attracting non-residents to the auction is one of our priorities in this area. In the context of this issue, UEEX, among other things, cooperates with banks that have experience in servicing natural gas market participants. We believe that involving international traders in trading is no longer an option, but a necessity in today’s realities," said CEO of UEEX O. Kovalenko.
