During the first half of 2025, the exchange held 2,405 trading sessions in the form of a one-way auction, and bilateral auction trading sessions were held daily according to the schedule.

As a result, the Group sold 28.5 million MWh of electricity, 988.5 thousand tons of oil and gas condensate, 106.23 thousand tons of liquefied gas and oil products, 468.7 million cubic meters of natural gas, 73 thousand tons of coal, and 2.7 thousand tons of raw materials. The total sales volume of untreated timber and lumber amounted to 1.35 million cubic meters.

The total value of commodities sold amounted to over UAH 200 billion, up 30% year-on-year. This was mainly driven by an increase in prices for exchange-traded commodities in the main directions. In general, the UEEX’s performance in the first half of 2025 reflects the overall dynamics on the energy markets, the impact of a full-scale war and legislative innovations. In addition, the exchange demonstrates stable dynamics in terms of the number of new members (+3%), currently amounting to 6523 companies.

In the first half of the year, we took important steps to strengthen the clearing component of the commodity markets. Thanks to close cooperation with Ukrainian Clearing House LLC, the exchange has gained a new level of operational reliability. Further development of the clearing infrastructure will remain one of the Exchange’s priorities. In addition, the UEEX focused on strengthening financial guarantees through the mechanism of a guarantee fee for the execution of contracts in the electricity market, and joined the Ukrainian Energy Initiative of the UN Global Compact in Ukraine.

The exchange continues to work on increasing transparency, introducing artificial intelligence technologies into the workflow, and creating new opportunities for training market participants to participate in exchange trading.

"The first half of 2025 showed that the energy and electricity exchange market remains efficient and in demand. We record a steady demand for transparent trading mechanisms and see stable activity in the main directions. We have also focused considerable attention on the implementation of bank guarantees, which is an important element of managing the risks of contract defaults in exchange trading and allows us to ensure uninterrupted delivery against payment," said O. Kovalenko, CEO of UEEX.
