On February 19, 2025, the Ukrainian Energy Exchange (UEEX) became a member of the UN Global Compact Network Ukraine, a broad coalition of international stakeholders united by a common goal to accelerate the recovery and development of the Ukrainian energy sector.

The Ukrainian Energy Initiative is aimed at consolidating international experience, creating new decarbonization roadmaps, and attracting investment in new projects that will help modernize Ukraine’s energy infrastructure. The joint efforts of local and international participants of the initiative will strengthen the reliability of the power system and its integration into the European market.
“Joining the initiative is an important step for us towards strengthening international cooperation and developing a transparent and competitive energy market in Ukraine. The rebuilding and modernization of the energy sector requires consolidation of efforts by all market participants, from government institutions to businesses and international partners. Cooperation with international partners will help attract investment and implement innovative solutions that will help Ukraine integrate green technologies and develop critical projects,” said Roman Matvienko, Director for Government Relations.

The Ukraine Energy Initiative brings together Ukrainian and international companies, financial institutions and expert organizations that work together to strengthen energy security, resilience and environmental transformation of Ukraine’s energy system.
