Compliance with the current legislation, Exchange trading Rules, and requirements of regulatory documents are the main principles of the Ukrainian Energy Exchange. Therefore, Exchange constantly monitors fulfillment by trading participants of their obligations under concluded contracts, in accordance with the exchange rules and Regulations.
By the decision of October 30 of the current year, Exchange Committee decided to apply sanctions to ten participants who participated in the trading in the "Untreated timber and lumber" section, in particular due to violation of the obligation to fulfill the contract for the purchase and sale of untreated timber based on the results of exchange trading held on May 15,26,28, June 2, 10, July 24 and September 4 and 18, 2025.
Financial sanctions in the form of a fine were applied to the participants-violators. Administrative sanctions in the form of suspension of admission to exchange trading (auctions) that will be initiated by the participant-seller, to whom the obligations were violated, were also applied to six participants - Branch "Podilsky Forest Office" of the State Enterprise "Forests of Ukraine" for a period of 1 month, Branch "Carpathian Forest Office" of the State Enterprise "Forests of Ukraine" for a period of 2 months, Branch "Capital Forest Office" of the State Enterprise "Forests of Ukraine" for periods of 1 and 3 months.
Exchange Committee emphasizes that the application of sanctions is a necessary measure to ensure openness, transparency and competition in trading. To prevent occurring similar situations in the future, all participants must strictly adhere to their obligations under the concluded contracts.
