Compliance with current legislation, exchange trading rules, and regulatory requirements are the main principles of the Ukrainian Energy Exchange. Therefore, Exchange constantly monitors the fulfillment of trading participants’ obligations under concluded contracts, in accordance with the exchange Rules and Regulations.
By the decision of October 21 of the current year, the Exchange Committee decided to impose sanctions on three participants who took part in trading in the “Untreated timber and lumber” direction, in particular due to violation of the obligation to perform the untreated timber purchase and sale Agreement based on the results of exchange trading held on February 26, May 26, June 2, 3 and 10, 2025.
Financial sanctions in the form of fines were imposed on the participants who violated the rules. In addition, administrative sanctions in the form of suspension of admission to exchange trading (auctions) initiated by the seller participant whose obligations were violated were imposed on seven participants: Podilskyi Forest Office, a branch of the State Enterprise “Forests of Ukraine,” for a period of 2 and 3 months; the Carpathian Forest Office branch of the State Enterprise “Forests of Ukraine” for 1 and 3 months.
Exchange Committee emphasizes that the application of sanctions is a compulsory measure to ensure openness, transparency, and competition in trading. To prevent similar situations in the future, all participants must strictly comply with their obligations under the concluded agreements.
