On May 20, 2025, the new terms of the section allowing for the trade in imported (customs-cleared) natural gas, Imported Natural Gas (formerly called Procurement of Imported Natural Gas), came into force.
Only residents of Ukraine can participate in such auctions. New features include the fact that the seller can now also initiate a starting position.

At the same time, in order to facilitate the supply of imported gas to Ukraine, it was decided not to apply the commission fee in this section to the buyer. The first offers of seller for the supply of imported gas have already been offered for trading in the section.
“The UEEX is quite flexible in responding to participants’ requests and always tries to offer the market exactly the opportunities it needs at a particular time. Given the importance of proper preparation for the next heating season, we have introduced the possibility of selling in the imported gas trading section. We believe that these changes will create conditions for intensifying trading in this section and attracting imported resources to Ukraine, which is essential in times of shortage. Preferential conditions for buyers should stimulate Ukrainian companies in terms of their long-term gas supply strategy,” - commented O. Kovalenko, CEO of UEEX.
