On September 18–19, 2025, the Ukrainian Energy Exchange (UEEX) participated in the international conference United Seas for Gas (US4GAS), organized by PONTON in Hamburg (Germany). The exchange was presented at the event by the Chairman of the UEEX Exchange Committee Oleksii Dubovskyi, Deputy Chairman of the Exchange Committee Inna Shcherbyna, Head of the Strategy and Development Department Ihor Bohachev, and International Cooperation Manager Anton Shevchenko.
The first day was dedicated to general discussions and exchange of experiences between participants, in particular on preparation for possible crisis situations and interaction between traders, operators, and suppliers. The main part of the conference took place on September 19 in the format of a strategic meeting of stakeholders on gas supply issues, where key challenges and prospects for the development of gas markets in South-Eastern and Eastern Europe were discussed. The central topics were the integration of regional gas markets, the introduction of innovative trading technologies, the development of clearing infrastructure, as well as the role of Ukrainian underground gas storage facilities and the prospects for the development of the biomethane market.
Particular attention was paid to Ukraine as an important participant in European processes of capacity booking and gas trading. Participants noted the country’s growing role in increasing market liquidity and ensuring energy security for the entire region. It was emphasized that further harmonization and standardization of market mechanisms will create additional opportunities for Ukraine and open the way to deeper integration into the European energy space.
The Hamburg conference confirmed that Ukraine is already actively integrated into European energy processes. Further implementation of modern technological solutions will allow us to expand opportunities for market participants and contribute to strengthening Europe’s energy security.
