An expanded board of the State Agency of Forest Resources of Ukraine was held to summarize the results of the forestry industry in the first quarter of 2025. The event was attended by the Ukrainian Energy Exchange, which plays a key role in ensuring transparency and efficiency of the economic activities of state forestry enterprises.

During the meeting of the Board, the positive dynamics of key indicators was recorded. In particular:

  • Net income from sales amounted to UAH 5.95 billion, which is UAH 519 million more than in the same period of 2024;
  • UAH 2.17 billion in taxes and unified social contribution;
  • The average monthly salary of the industry’s employees increased to UAH 25,835 (UAH 4,030 more than last year).

Special attention was paid to the exchange trading of timber. For the first quarter of 2025:

  • 2.454 million cubic meters of timber were sold to the domestic market;
  • Total sales amounted to UAH 5.857 billion;
  • Despite a decrease in total sales volume by 296 thousand cubic meters, revenue increased by more than UAH 644 million compared to the same period last year.

Other priorities include preparing for the fire-hazardous period, transition to selective and gradual logging systems in the Carpathian region, and implementation of European integration initiatives, including the implementation of the EU Regulation. (EUDR). The participants discussed steps to harmonize forestry legislation, increase the climate resilience of forests, organize training for specialists, and propose the formation of lots for exchange trading with the subsequent conclusion of long-term contracts.

The Ukrainian Energy Exchange highly appreciates the effectiveness of cooperation and the high level of organization in interaction with the State Forestry Agency. The introduced exchange mechanisms for the sale of timber are a key factor in ensuring stable financial growth and increasing trust in public administration. The results of the first quarter of 2025 show positive dynamics and significant potential for further improvement of performance through constructive and systematic interaction.

The Ukrainian Energy Exchange will continue to be a reliable partner of the State Forestry Agency in implementing initiatives aimed at strengthening the economic sustainability of the forest industry, developing transparent market mechanisms, and integrating Ukraine into the European space in the field of sustainable forest management.
