For the last week, untreated timber auctions at the Ukrainian Energy Exchange showed the following results:
- Exhibited volume was 167,30 th. c. m;
- Sold timber 163,83 th. c. m;
- Timber sales value was UAH 885,97 mln. (incl. VAT);
- Forest agencies received additional income while English auction for the amount of UAH 292,34 mln. (incl. VAT).
Untreated timber sales was conducted by forestry enterprises from 6 regions of Ukraine. The most volume was sold in Kyiv region.
Untreated timber sales distribution was as follows: 69% – round timber, 31% – firewood.
Round timber
For the reporting period 113,05 th.c.m. of round timber were sold for the total amount UAH 758,28 mln. (incl. VAT).
Pine, oak, and spruce were the most sold, accounting for 85,84%, 6,17%, and 5,13% of total sales, respectively. Other species sold included ash, aspen, fir, linden, hornbeam, and others.
On average, the increase from the starting price at English auctions was 39%. Considering that the auction increment is 1%, the highest average was for sharp-leaved maple – 115, linden – 94, ash – 93.
Firewood
During the reporting period, the volume of firewood sales amounted to 50,77 thousand cubic meters worth UAH 127,69 million (including VAT).
The vast majority of firewood (99,6%) was sold for industrial use, while 0,4% was sold for non-industrial use.
Among firewood, pine and aspen were in the highest demand, accounting for 52% and 16% respectively.

Price indices
Pine showed the strongest upward trend among roundwood price indices, with a cost of UAH 5636,31cubic meter including VAT.
In turn, the maximum decline was observed for alder. The weighted average price index was UAH5268,25 cubic meter including VAT, which is 4% less than last week’s figures.

The price index for industrial firewood rose the most, reaching 2521,40 UAH/cubic meter including VAT.
Among all types of firewood, the price of the first group fell the most, now standing at UAH 1092,00 per cubic meter including VAT.
