For the last week untreated timber auctions at UEEX showed the following results:
- Exhibited volume was 9,27 th. c. m;
- Sold timber 5,90 th. c. m;
- Timber sales value was UAH 20,01 mln. (incl. VAT);
- Forestry agencies received additional income during the English auction in the amount of UAH 2,76 million (incl. VAT).
Untreated timber sales was carried out by forestry enterprises from 5 regions of Ukraine. The largest volume was sold in Ivano-Frankivsk region.
Distribution of untreated timber sales was as follows: 29% – firewood, 71% – round timber.
Round timber
During the reporting period, 4,02 thousand cubic meters of round timber were sold for a total amount of UAH 16,93 million (including VAT).
The most sold were pine, spruce and fir, where the share of their sales in the overall structure was 66,45%, 18,55% and 5,47%, respectively. There was also the sale of such species as oak, ash, hornbeam, beech and birch.
The average increase from the starting price at English auctions was 16%. Given that the auction step is 1%, the highest average was for beech – 73, ash – 64, oak – 40.
Firewood
During the reporting period, the volume of firewood sales amounted to 1.66 thousand cubic meters for the amount of UAH 3,05 million (including VAT).
The vast majority of firewood (94%) was sold for industrial use, while 6% was sold for non-industrial use.
Among firewood, spruce and pine were in the greatest demand, accounting for 51% and 15%, respectively.

Price indexes
The largest upward trend among the price indices for round timber was shown by pine, the cost of which amounted to 4472,55 UAH/cubic m including VAT.
In turn, the maximum decrease was observed for fir. The weighted average price index amounted to 4353,12 UAH/cubic m including VAT, which is 2% less than last week’s figures.

The price index for firewood for industrial use increased the most, reaching 1892,50 UAH/cubic m including VAT, which is 2% more than in the previous period.
Among all types of firewood, the cost of firewood of the second group decreased the most, which now amounts to 990,00 UAH/cubic m including VAT, which is 0,4% less than the previous indicator.
