Last week’s auctions at the Ukrainian Energy Exchange for untreated timber showed the following results:
- the exhibited volume amounted to 33.17 thousand cubic meters;
- 9.44 thousand cubic meters of wood were sold;
- the cost of timber sales amounted to UAH 24.53 million (including VAT);
- the state received additional income during the English auction in the amount of UAH 1.24 million (including VAT).
The distribution of untreated timber sales was as follows: 58% - firewood, 42% - round timber.
Round timber
During the reporting period, the company sold 3.93 thousand cubic meters of round timber for a total of UAH 16.10 million (including VAT).
Spruce, oak and ash were sold the most, with their share in the total structure amounting to 75.36%, 11.21% and 4.79%, respectively. We also sold such species as sharp-leaved maple, pine, birch, beech, red oak and others.
The maximum increase from the starting price was recorded at 54%. Given that the auction step is 1%, the maximum number of steps was 54 for pine, 47 for ash, and 43 for birch.

Firewood
During the reporting period, the volume of firewood sales amounted to 5.52 thousand cubic meters for the amount of UAH 8.43 million (including VAT).
The vast majority of firewood (93%) was sold for industrial use, while 7% was sold for non-industrial use.
Spruce and oak firewood were in the highest demand among firewood, accounting for 31% and 28% of sales, respectively.

Price indices
Birch showed the largest upward trend among roundwood price indices, with a 26% increase and a price of UAH 3,941.19 per cubic meter including VAT.
In turn, the maximum decline was observed for oak. The weighted average price index amounted to UAH 17,059.37 per cubic meter including VAT, which is 29% less than last week.

The price index for non-industrial firewood of the first group increased the most, reaching UAH 1,376.24 per cubic meter including VAT, which is 12% higher than in the previous period.
Among all types of firewood, the cost of firewood of the third group has decreased the most, and now amounts to UAH 661.02 per cubic meter including VAT, which is 36% less than the previous figure.
