Last week’s auctions at the Ukrainian Energy Exchange for untreated timber showed the following results:
- the exhibited volume amounted to 3.03 thousand cubic meters;
- 2.73 thousand cubic meters of wood were sold;
- the cost of timber sales amounted to UAH 8.53 million (including VAT);
- the forestry received additional income during the English auction in the amount of UAH 2.28 million (including VAT).
Untreated timber was sold by forestry enterprises from 4 regions of Ukraine. The largest volume was sold in Volyn region.
The distribution of untreated timber sales was as follows: 75% - firewood, 25% - round timber.
Round timber
During the reporting period, the company sold 691.52 cubic meters of round timber for a total of UAH 6.01 million (including VAT).
Pine, oak, and ash were the most popular species sold, with a share of 36.59%, 27.72%, and 16.06%, respectively. We also sold such species as fir, spruce, alder, birch and aspen.
The maximum average increase from the starting price was recorded at 58%. Given that the auction step is 1%, the maximum arithmetic mean number of steps was 58 for pine, 48 for alder, and 38 for oak.
Firewood
During the reporting period, the volume of firewood sales amounted to 2.04 thousand cubic meters for the amount of UAH 2.51 million (including VAT).
The vast majority of firewood (77%) was sold for industrial use, while 23% was sold for non-industrial use.
Among firewood, pine firewood was in the highest demand, accounting for 66% of total sales.

Price indices
Among the price indices for round timber, pine showed the largest growth, reaching a price of UAH 5,246.74 per cubic meter including VAT.
In turn, the maximum decline was observed for fir. The weighted average price index amounted to UAH 2,830.77 per cubic meter including VAT.

Price indices for firewood decreased last week. Non-industrial wood of the third group remained the most stable, falling to UAH 810.00 per cubic meter including VAT, which is 2% less than in the previous period.
Among all types of firewood, the price of industrial firewood has decreased the most, and now amounts to UAH 1,241.38 per cubic meter including VAT.
