Over the last week, auctions on the Ukrainian Energy Exchange for untreated timber showed the following results:
- the exhibited volume was 7.12 thousand cubic meters;
- 4.98 thousand cubic meters of wood were sold;
- the cost of selling wood was 24.77 million UAH (including VAT);
- forestry enterprises received additional income during the English auction in the amount of 4.49 million UAH (including VAT).
The sale of untreated timber took place by forestry enterprises from 5 regions of Ukraine. The largest volume was sold in the Kyiv region.
The distribution of untreated timber sales was as follows: 71% – round timber, 29% – firewood.
Round timber
During the reporting period, 3.51 thousand cubic meters of round timber were sold for a total amount of UAH 20.88 million (including VAT).
The most sold species were pine, oak and beech, where their share in the overall structure was 57.87%, 27.31% and 5.13%, respectively. There was also the sale of such species as alder, ash, birch, spruce, poplar and others.
The average increase from the starting price at English auctions was 7%. Given that the auction step is 1%, the highest average was for fir – 56, beech – 42, pine – 27.
Firewood
During the reporting period, the volume of sales of firewood amounted to 1.47 thousand cubic meters for the amount of 3.88 million UAH (including VAT).
The vast majority of firewood (95%) was sold for industrial use, while 5% was sold for non-industrial use.
Among firewood, pine and hardwood were in the greatest demand, accounting for 44% and 34%, respectively.

Price indices
The largest upward trend among the price indices for round timber was shown by beech, with a price of 5,856.39 UAH/cubic m including VAT.
In turn, the maximum decrease was observed for birch. The weighted average price index amounted to 3,277.13 UAH/cubic m including VAT.

A decrease in prices for firewood was recorded in the reporting period.
The price of firewood of the first group has fallen the most — its cost is UAH 1,026.00/cubic meter (including VAT).
The smallest decrease was noted for firewood for industrial use, the price of which is currently 2,730.71 UAH/cubic m (including VAT).
