Over the past week, auctions on the Ukrainian Energy Exchange for untreated timber showed the following results:
- the exhibited volume was 2.97 thousand cubic meters;
- 2.70 thousand cubic meters of wood were sold;
- the cost of selling wood was UAH 12.30 million (including VAT);
- forestry enterprises received additional income during the English auction in the amount of UAH 1.34 million (including VAT).
The sale of untreated timber took place by forestry enterprises from 5 regions of Ukraine. The largest volume was sold in the Kyiv region.
The distribution of untreated timber sales was as follows: 69% – round timber, 31% –firewood.
Round timber
During the reporting period, 1.85 thousand cubic meters of round timber were sold for a total amount of UAH 10.91 million (including VAT).
The most sold species were pine, oak and spruce, where their share in the overall structure was 32.50%, 28.41% and 22.68%, respectively. There was also the sale of such species as beech, alder and red oak.
The average increase from the starting price at English auctions was 21%. Given that the auction step is 1%, the highest average was for pine – 42, beech – 16, spruce – 12.
Firewood
During the reporting period, the volume of sales of firewood amounted to 850.00 cubic meters for the amount of 1.39 million UAH (including VAT).
The vast majority of firewood (65%) was sold for industrial use, while 35% was sold for non-industrial use.
Price indices
The largest upward trend among the price indices for round timber was shown by beech, where the growth was 6% with a price of 5,018.51 UAH/cubic m including VAT.
In turn, the maximum decrease was observed for spruce. The weighted average price index amounted to 3,760.91 UAH/cubic m including VAT.

Over the week, firewood price indices decreased.
The price of industrial wood has undergone minimal change. It currently stands at UAH 1,981.94/cubic meter including VAT, which is 6% lower than in the previous period.
The price of firewood of the second group has fallen the most — now its cost is 993.30 UAH/cubic meter including VAT.
