Over the past week, auctions on the Ukrainian Energy Exchange for untreated timber showed the following results:
- the volume offered amounted to 143.54 thousand cubic meters;
- 138.27 thousand cubic meters of timber were sold;
- the sale price of timber amounted to UAH 645.00 million (including VAT);
- forest agencies received additional income during English auctions in the amount of UAH 195.36 million (including VAT).
The sale of untreated timber was carried out by forestry enterprises from seven regions of Ukraine. The largest volume was sold in the Ivano-Frankivsk region.
The distribution of sales of untreated timber was as follows: 71% – round timber, 29% – firewood.
Round timber
During the reporting period, 98.42 thousand cubic meters of round timber were sold for a total amount of UAH 539.86 million (including VAT).
The largest sales were of spruce, beech, and fir, which accounted for 69.09%, 14.40%, and 9.44% of total sales, respectively. Other species sold included oak, pine, red oak, ash, hornbeam, and others.
On average, the increase from the starting price at English auctions was 34%. Considering that the auction increment is 1%, the highest average was for poplar – 89, ash – 73, and alder – 58.
Firewood
During the reporting period, sales of firewood amounted to 39.86 thousand cubic meters worth UAH 105.14 million (including VAT).
The vast majority of firewood (99.8%) was sold for industrial use, while 0.2% was sold for non-industrial use.
Among firewood, spruce wood was in the highest demand, accounting for 45% of total sales.

Price indices
The highest price increase among round timber was recorded for alder — the weighted average price index was 6,456.96 UAH/cubic meter, including VAT.
At the same time, the largest decrease in price was observed for pine, where the weighted average price index was 4,297.47 UAH/cubic meter, including VAT.

The price index for non-industrial firewood in the third group rose the most, reaching 1,405.92 UAH/cubic meter including VAT.
Among all types of firewood, the cost of firewood in the first group has fallen the most, now standing at 1,853.31 UAH/cubic meter including VAT, which is 5% less than the previous figure.
